Best bars in King West

The Parlour (642 King St W)

A Vancouver import set in an 1890s piano factory, The Parlour mixes a lively lounge with shareable plates and pizza. It’s a go-to for after-work drinks and group nights out, with a patio in the warmer months. It’s right across from Six50 King Condos.

SPiN Toronto (461 King St W, lower level)

Open since 2011, SPiN is King West’s original ping pong social club. Book a table for your group, grab a drink from the bar, and settle the office rivalry once and for all. It’s one of the most fun nights out in the neighbourhood, and a popular spot for work events.

Belfast Love Public House (548 King St W)

The Wheat Sheaf Tavern (667 King St W)

Toronto’s oldest bar has stood at King and Bathurst since 1849. After a major renovation it’s still the place for wings, sports and live music, with a lot more history than anywhere else on the strip.

Northern Maverick Brewing Co. (115 Bathurst St)

A big brewery and restaurant at Bathurst and Adelaide, with beer brewed on site, a large patio and a bottle shop. It’s right next door to OneEleven Condos, which makes it about as close to a neighbourhood local as it gets.

Best restaurants in King West

Buca (604 King St W)

Tucked down a laneway off King and Portland in a former boiler room, the original Buca is still one of the city’s top Italian restaurants and holds a Michelin Plate. Great for a date night or a special occasion.

Lee (497 Richmond St W)

Chef Susur Lee’s flagship has moved into the restored WaterWorks building, and the famous Singapore slaw is still on the menu. Book ahead, especially on weekends.

Patria (478 King St W)

Spanish tapas and paella served in a bright room reached through a laneway off King Street, at the same address as Victory Condos. Perfect for groups who like to share.

Gusto 101 (101 Portland St)

A busy Italian trattoria in a converted auto body shop, with fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza and a rooftop patio. It’s a short walk from 66 Portland Lofts and Seventy5 Portland.
