Coffee, Oysters, Champagne, alternatively known as COC, recently opened in the Entertainment District and it’s been making quite some noise.
Launched under the tag ‘Sip. Shuck. Sip.’, this restaurant brings together its three favourite things – coffee, oysters, and champagne.
Whether you’re starting your day with one of the best cups of coffee King West has to offer, or are in need of an after-work oyster-shucking good time, there’s a great mix of vibes happening here. COC offers iced and hot coffee from premium local roasters, a fresh daily selection of oysters, and the largest selection of sparkles in Toronto.
As you walk into Coffee, Oysters, Champagne, you’ll immediately notice the wide range of champagne on-hand. The champagne room has to be one of the most impressive on the street. Chic and intimate, drop in any hour of the day and enjoy some of France’s finest.
COC is fast becoming a great place to bring a date, or to hang out after work in a fun, high-class atmosphere. Dazzling in pink and gold, COC boasts some excellent surprises around almost every corner. Combine the champagne with a rotating mix of fresh oysters and it’s a pairing hard to beat. The COC menu also boasts a number of non-seafood menu items, such as garlic aioli-dressed fries and a cocktail menu which won’t let you down.
Digging deep down into the COC venue, the champagne room has got to be one of its most impressive features. A 1920s-esque restaurant and similar to what one might find in an old Paris café, you can enjoy some the mouth-watering menu items ranging from steak and bones marrow to sous vide octopus, an egg and mushroom salad, or any of the fixings you’d come to expect on some of Toronto’s fanciest cocktails.
Coffee, Oysters, Champagne is owned by tech entrepreneur Sanjay Singhal and restaurant developer Steven Daicos. Although originally a concept to serve single-farm sustainable specialty coffee, COC has become so much more.
COC is open from 7 am to 2 am all 7 days of the week! If you’re expecting champagne, it’s served from 11 am onwards and freshly shucked oysters are available everyday after 4 pm.
Some of the exquisite décor you’ll find here can be attributed to Navigate Designs, a design and branding firm who oversaw the delivery of its rose onyx walls, the marble and gold tables which occupy a significant portion of the room, and the plush banquette booths. The elevated French-inspired menu is sourced from the mind of 14-year veteran chef Chris Wilkinson. Meanwhile, Jake Dolgy a former filmmaker-turned-advertising aficionado has overseen the development of the drinks menu.
