Middle Eastern restaurants on King West are a key element of the street’s growing restaurant scene. From falafel and kebabs to more high-end meals, you’ll find everything from authentically prepared Middle Eastern dishes to Westernized interpretations. Here are some of the top Middle Eastern restaurants you’ll find in and around King West.

Simit & Chai Co. – 787 King Street West

Simit & Chai Co. is a Turkish bakery and an excellent place to kickstart your morning. The Turkish bagels, known as ‘Simits’, are perhaps what Simit & Chai Co. are best known for. Having only opened in 2016, this Middle Eastern café is still going strong and continues to be among the highest rated bakeries in King West. For anyone looking for Middle Eastern breakfast food, this is probably your best bet.

Pamier Kabob Toronto – 119 Spadina Avenue

North on Spadina is Pamier Kabob Toronto, serving authentic Afghani food with more than a decade of operations behind it. Here you’ll find a wide-range menu, with chicken kabobs to mil curries, seafood kabobs, wraps, salads, lamb, beef, fish, and more at affordable pricing.

Paramount Middle Eastern Kitchen – 141 Spadina Avenue

Paramount Middle Eastern Kitchen is a part of the fastest growing chain of Middle Eastern restaurants in Canada and is well-known among local residents. Their Spadina location is just a short walk up front King St. and has everything from delicious shawarma wraps to filling grilled meat platters, pita wraps, appetizers, salads, and vegetarian options.

Mana’ish Global Flatbread Café – 140 Spadina Avenue

The Mana’ish Global Flatbread Café is a lively restaurant bringing together authentically prepared manaish with a mix of coffees and teas inspired by Lebanon and Middle Eastern culture. Sleek and clean, this is a great casual spot to customize some Middle Eastern flatbreads and load them up with your favourite toppings. These work for a quick breakfast meal and/or a snack mid-day. All affordable, this café gets big ratings from us.

Anoush Middle Eastern Cuisine – 330 Front Street

Anoush is a great fast-food, take-out, and catering company offering unique Middle Eastern cuisine. Authentically prepared and catered to Torontonians of every background, Anoush Middle Eastern Cuisine has won high ratings all around. Although it’s not right in the heart of King West, for those that are downtown for a Jays game and looking to pick something up on the way home, this is one place where you know you’re going to get something delicious.

Liberty Shawarma – 114 Atlantic Avenue

Liberty Shawarma is another Middle Eastern cuisine that is on our list because of its close proximity to our neighbourhood. This is one place you’ll be sure to pick up some high quality Middle Eastern cuisine. The chicken shawarma’s are always fresh and taste great, it’s a place you can always count to be open late into the night. For these reasons, we just had to put it on our list!

King West boasts a growing restaurant scene, with a lot of names coming from European cuisine. We hope to see Toronto’s Middle Eastern cuisine scene continue to grow and with that, we hope more Middle Eastern restaurants are brought into King West’s borders.
