Say goodbye to Uniun Nightclub and say hello to Toybox! Announced by INK Entertainment, Toybox is said to be one of the biggest clubs to hit King West in some time.

Re-designing the same King West warehouse space that was once occupied by Uniun Nightclub, Toybox is being advertised as a “nightlife and entertainment venue” set to open in early 2019. INK Entertainment, the same company responsible for the success of Rebel, Cabana Pool Bar and Cube nightclub, will continue to manage the space. There’s a lot of money being invested here and we can’t wait to see what’s to come.

The closer one moves from King West to downtown Toronto, the more pubs, clubs, and venues pop up. In King West though, options are sometimes limited if you’re looking for strictly a club vibe. Contrasting our neighborhood with others, INK Entertainment has been very successful with venues in strategic regions across the City and Toybox will be no different.

Although details are scarce, in the INK Entertainment press release, Toybox is described as having a two-room, two-sound format with weekly events including a Top 40 open format music party on Saturdays and live music performances every night of the week. In terms of what this could bring to King West is promising. No date has been set for its grand opening however many King West residents have their ears to the ground, waiting to hear more details.

Despite all this development, some still have doubts about exactly how different Toybox will be from Uniun Nightclub. This remains to be seen. Thus far, no photos of the space have been posted online although the website does hint at some of the basic branding ideas being used. The black and pink combination are admittedly aesthetically attractive, and the dark street graffiti on brick could make for an interesting appearance if applied to the club.

If you’re itching for more info, you may want to sign up for the company’s email newsletter available on the nightclub’s website or to visit their Instagram. Also, if you’re qualified and looking for work in King West, Toybox is also searching to hire bartenders, servers, barbacks, bottle service attendants, and “brand ambassadors”.
