Best Sushi in King West

Sushi fans rejoice at the sheer number of sushi options in Toronto. King West has plenty of them and many of them are quite good, regardless of budget or dress code.

Some honourable mentions for a quick cheap sushi lunch include Ichiban Sushi (750 King St W), Sushi & Bento (579 King St W) and my personal favourite cheap lunch take away, CJ Lunchbox (409 Richmond St W).

For something trendier (and pricier) there’s Blowfish at 668 King St W, for some truly interesting flavour profiles.

But our hands-down favourite sushi joint in King West has to be Sushi 930 at 930 King St W. Owner/chef Tomo and his apprentice chefs are dedicated to serving some of the highest quality and freshest sushi around. Seriously.

sushi-930Sushi 930 is easy to miss, on a quiet stretch of King St W near Strachan, it is mainly a takeout counter but do’t let it’s unassuming look fool you. This sushi is the real deal. Tomo sources his seafood from the same suppliers as the most expensive sushi restaurants in Toronto – at a fraction of the price.

Some could argue that Sushi 930 is pricey for a take-out joint but quality this good won’t be found at the cheaper sushi places in the city. For the quality, Sushi 930 offers excellent value and a truly authentic sushi experience.
